At the end of their careers in the limelight black female models know that they must make way for younger talent. Well before that time comes many will proactively start thinking about what they’ll do to earn an income in the future. They therefore become determined to make the most of their current jobs to ensure that they will make a smooth transition into whatever careers they aspire for. A good number of models have managed to do this and Black Men Digital magazine has been fortunate enough to interview them.
One such lady is Shanti Saha who now runs Saha Concierge, a high-end concierge service that caters to sports and entertainment industry elites. Saha earned her degree in nursing from Florida State University in 2005. This in itself speaks volumes considering that many people solely attribute the success of to their natural good looks but not their individual intelligence, an unfortunate assumption that should be totally dispelled because many other models have college degrees in diverse disciplines.es.
Since its launch in 2011 Saha Concierge has established a fine reputation for itself, of course thanks to the competent management abilities of its CEO. Saha is held in high esteem by her high profile clients as she ably handles their epicurean travel bookings, accommodations and events requirements. Her client list, which currently features luminaries like Sean Kingston, Yung Berg, Cuda Love and Bryant McKinnie, is definitely set to become more celebrity-crusted in the future. In sort of a mentorship role, Saha requires all attending her clients’ events to display elegance, sophistication and classiness, not cattiness and drama. A fine reputation, she says, is the perfect prerequisite for guaranteeing client satisfaction.
Another of the black models who is now scaling the heights of success in the entertainment industry is Angela Yee. She, after a career in the hip hop music industry, previously hosted two popular radio shows on Shade 45 i.e. -The Morning After With Angela Yee- and -Lip Service-. The latter was especially popular because the invited interviewees were well known personalities from the entertainment industry and they were engaged in discussions based on their relationships and sex lives. Angela then moved to Power 105.1 and now hosts -The Breakfast Club-. While her new show isn’t sexually-oriented it has definitely caught on with the public in a massive way. In collaboration with Vibe Magazine the show is now also available in print and video versions. Angela Yee certainly exemplifies the notion that black female models have what it takes to become quintessential market leaders whatever their line of work is.

Shooting in Monochrome
To give a contemporary photo an old-fashioned feel, try shooting in monochrome. A picture done entirely in black and white or sepia tones achieves on old time look. Rather than editing the picture through a computer program, many digital cameras feature a setting that enables you to actually shoot the images directly in monochrome.
The monochrome setting option simplifies the process of creating these stunning pictures. No software or special knowledge of photo editing is required to produce these stunning images. Depending on what type of digital camera you have, the monochrome setting will be located in the My Colours, Colour or Picture Style settings menu.
Types of monochrome settings
Once you’ve located the monochrome setting, you will see that you have different options. Black and white and sepia settings are offered by most digital cameras. Colour monochrome settings, such as green and blue, are included in some cameras as well. The more advanced cameras enable you to enhance the monochrome mode with various coloured filters. These filters allow you to achieve a number of effects. For instance, you can recreate the effect of a red filter over black and white film. Also, any colours in the subject that are the same colour as the filter can be selectively lightened.
Choosing a setting
Consider the emotion you want the photo to evoke. Sepia tones create a different feel than black and white, and vice versa. For example, a sepia-toned image will present a softer look, reminiscent of antique photos. Black and white, on the other hand, is ideal for photographing strong structural elements for stark contrasts.
Choosing your subject
Landscapes and city scenes tend to feature strong structural elements, such as buildings. Shadows actually enhance these subjects. Sunlight casts the lines and angles with dramatic patterns. To record the most detail possible, use an ISO setting of 200 or less. Low ISO settings best capture the shadows and structures that make for striking monochrome photos.
Gentle, more romantic settings also lend themselves well to monochrome mode. A dream-like or nostalgic mood can be evoked through monochrome photography. Subtle nuances emerge through the variations in tone.
Portraits, of both pets and people, are excellent subjects for monochrome photographs, particularly those done in black and white. You can vary the effect by changing the lighting. Soft light minimises the appearance of blemishes. Directional lighting, lighting which emanates from a single source, accentuates facial features.
Tips for shooting in monochrome
As explained above, the monochrome setting directly captures monochrome images. No colour information is recorded. While colour photos can be made monochrome with computer software, a photo taken in the monochrome setting cannot be reverted to colour. That is, unless you take the pictures in RAW format.
Try using your digital camera’s flash, whether inside or outside, when taking monochrome photos. Although the flash might washout an image taken in colour, that same flash can cast desirable dramatic shadows in monochrome.
Experiment with the different filters before you start taking photos. Your efforts will be better directed if you first know the effect that each filter achieves.

The costs of wedding photography vary considerably. In fact when researching for the average cost of wedding photography in the UK I was bombarded with such an array of different figures it was almost meaningless. Probably the most credible source I could find was from Moneywise that quoted 839 as an average cost. This amount feels about right so I hope that gives you a ballpark figure.
Bear in mind though its an average so people are spending a great deal more and a great deal less so please dont panic if its a lot more than you anticipated. The Photographer Finder have some incredibly talented wedding photographers with competitive packages less than the average figure above and dont include any of the tips suggested below!
This article is to provide you with some ideas on how to save money on your wedding photography and still have the lasting record you deserve.
Tip No 1 Dont marry on a Saturday
Quite possibly the most effective and easiest way to reduce the cost of not only your wedding photography but also for the rest of your wedding is to not get married on a Saturday. This one factor alone can save hundreds and puts you in an excellent negotiating position.
If you have the typical British reticence of negotiating or haggling, imagine yourself in the other persons shoes. If you can see it from their point of view it makes you a more effective negotiator. Booking a photographer last minute when they have no prior bookings may possibly get you a reduction. Booking far in advance when they dont know how many weddings will occur in that year may also get you a reduction. Booking a wedding on a day that is unlikely to include another wedding will almost certainly get you a reduction.
From a wedding photographers perspective assume they do x amount of weddings a year and 99% of them occur on a Saturday why would they want to negotiate a lower price when they could have a booking at normal cost? However, if you choose another day of the week the chances are they have no likelihood of another wedding so you are giving them an extra booking. The same goes for a venue, choose a Friday in December and you are competing with the Christmas clientele.
Tip No 2 Consider a voucher scheme
For the last few years every time Ive been invited to a wedding there has been a note saying youre company is enough but if you would like to buy us a gift we would really appreciate contributions to our honeymoon with vouchers from such and such travel agent. So why not do the same for wedding photography? Some wedding photographers are already offering this service. Its a great way to cover some or all the cost of your photography or even perhaps upgrade your package. If you were interested it may be worth asking your wedding photographer to put some vouchers together if they dont already offer the scheme.
Tip No 3 Ordering a CD
By ordering a cd of your images instead of prints, albums etc you are reducing the photographers time and expense and consequently cds are being offered by more and more wedding photographers. It is a way of keeping to a tight budget but make sure it is not a false economy. Despite what Tomorrows World said cds and dvds are not infallible. They scratch, skip and malfunction. If you are choosing a cd from your wedding photographer check the images and not watermarked and clarify that the images are hi res (so that you can print them).
Another tip (sorry not a cost saving one) if you are considering buying a digital format instead of prints get them processed by a prolab not a high street processor. There is a very noticeable difference in quality. You have paid for pro pictures so it is worth getting them developed professionally and it is still cheaper to go direct.
Tip No 4 Shop outside your location
Ok, normal advice is to shop locally. However, when shopping for a bridal gown for my friend last year she fell in love with a dress that she couldnt afford and nothing else came close because she had found her perfect dress. After a gazillion hours of shopping locally we extended our search. We went to a town that is less affluent and found the same dress for nearly 20% less. It took a bit of extra time for the fittings but she had the dress shed set her heart on. So its certainly worth considering looking outside your area as your perfect wedding photographer may be in the next county (of course we can do this for you). You will need to take into account the travel costs of the photographer but it could still be a way of saving a pretty penny.
Tip No 5 Hire a Newbie
By newbie, I dont mean amateur. A newbie is someone who has had professional training and possibly a couple of weddings under their belt. He or she will be looking to expand their portfolio and gain experience and the prices they charge will reflect that. The preparation stage and clarifying exactly what you want beforehand is even more important when booking someone with little experience. However, everyone starts their career from scratch and what they lack in experience they should make up for in enthusiasm.
Tip No 6 Limit the length of time you want the photographer at your wedding
Wedding photographers charges are based on their time, their expertise, their experience and the costs of the finished product. If you reduce the length the time they are at your wedding it may be possible to reduce the overall cost. Check with your potential wedding photographer to see whether this will make a difference.
Tip No 7 Modify your wish list to fit their charges
Consider whether you would prefer to have better quality with a more basic package than more images with a cheaper photographer.
As with all cost savings a degree of compromise is involved. The hardest part is deciding just what to compromise on but never hesitate to speak directly to the photographer for advice and guidance.
A baby’s first year is an important time to start documenting their life with professional photography. Even though the parents may be snapping away, a portrait professional can capture the baby in unique, artistic ways and produce professional archival prints that will last for generations. Understanding the importance of the task, many parents wonder when are the best months in the first year for professional infant photography. The following are some guidelines that identify what can be expected at the different stages of the baby’s first year or so.
Newborn – The first 5 to 10 days is the best time for newborn baby photography. During this time they are less fussy and their skin will be more clear. Baby acne usually sets in around day 16 and lasts for a couple of weeks, so having the session done before this will work in your favor. Newborn sessions often involve naked baby’s laying on soft blankets or in the family’s arms. Whether the baby is awake or asleep, these pictures should not be missed as they are an incredible way to begin documenting a person’s life.
2 to 3 months – This time is still considered newborn, but the babies are often much harder to work with at this age as they tend to be very fussy. They will have better head control than in the first month, and they usually can smile at this point, but do not count on getting a smiling portrait at this age. Most posing will involve the baby laying down on back or stomach, being propped up, and being held in arms.
4 to 5 months – The infant usually is a fairly good smiler at this point, and has gotten quite chubby. Most infants at this age cannot sit up yet, but they are far better at interacting with people and objects, and are much less fussy. This is a great age for capturing chubby legs and bare bottom shots.
6 to 7 months – Now the baby is able to sit up, and the options for posing are more numerous. Also, the baby is able to smile and laugh at this point and usually does not fear strangers. This is a wonderful age to start going outdoors for natural light baby photography. It is also a great time to include family pets and siblings in the session as the baby is able to sit but usually is not able to move around much – yet!
8 to 10 months – Often by this age, the infant is crawling and the sessions get very active! Consider a white background session in studio for a clean, classic look – but be ready to bring toys to distract the baby to stay in the area of light and continually reset the baby to the right spot. for very active babies a better choice for professional photography may be at the home if these is plenty of natural light so that the baby can roam and the photographer can follow.
11 to 14 months – Between these months, most babies are pulling up, “cruising” along furniture, standing and walking. Location sessions are ideal at this age when the baby is very determined to be mobile in their environment. During this time frame a one year portrait should be done to document the amazing development from birth to one. This should be a very playful session which includes family members as well.
OK – so what are the best ages for professional infant photography? As an experienced baby photographer, I would say all of the above are great for documenting the baby’s stages, but you can skip the 2 to 3 month session as they just tend to be so fussy. If you can only do three – make sure to do the newborn session (5 to 10 days), the 6 month session (sitting) and the One Year Portrait. When ordering your prints, make sure to get professional archival prints so that they will last for generations, and the grand children of this baby will have these pictures to treasure. This is the gift of professional photography.

A jumping-hour window reveals both the hours and minutes while rotating around the dial and an arrow has been substituted for the seconds hand. A colorful map of the world has also been placed on the finely decorated dial which is complimented by a blue crocodile skin strap.
You need to have to arrive up with photographs that are fantastic and problem the relaxation of the photographers to better. Creativeness is critical to this sort of photography and if you don’t have it get it or get out. You will not previous.
4. A tiny bit insaneng>
I included this level since any sane individual would imagine twice in advance of taking on a couple’s most vital day. A standard photographer who shoots for the pure satisfaction is not the man or woman for wedding photography. If the assumed of pumping adrenalin scares you then attempt child photography.
5. A skilled photographer
The previous matter you require to be concerned about is regardless of whether you have the digital camera on the appropriate setting or the right lens for the scene. If you have any doubts about your photographic capacity then it really is not for you. Go shoot kids parties and other very low tension activities right until you are fully proficient with your photography and confident in your power. Your only considerations must be relating to your planned shots and creativeness. Anything else will need to be 2nd nature.
6. A whole lot of cash
If you are heading to be successful in this company you need to have revenue or an additional resource of cash flow as it requires time to set up on your own in the business though producing a track record and portfolio. References and referrals are crucial. You do not just set up a indicator and wait for the home business to roll in.
Marriage ceremony photography involves time, work and a bit of luck in addition to the 6 points previously mentioned. Take your time to acquire the photographic capabilities so that when you shoot your first wedding ceremony you are entirely qualified at what you do. And then, practise, practise, practise. Satisfied shooting
If you are in the practice of planning a wedding ceremony, you have most likely heard, “you only get to do this once” a million occasions. The jeweler, cake maker, marriage ceremony gown retail store and each one particular else involved in your wedding ceremony want the day to be a flawless knowledge, a single that will generate great memories the rest of your existence. The individual who will capture these recollections is your marriage ceremony photographer.
The biggest error most brides- and grooms-to-be make when picking out a marriage ceremony photographer is to “hire” a relative or a photo hobbyist as a way to conserve a couple of dollars. The fact is that they most possible do not have the practical experience, gear or temperament to capture the important moments of your wedding in the very best way.
Here are some suggestions to locate a excellent professional wedding ceremony photographer.
Practical knowledge Counts
There is very little a lot more critical than practical experience when hiring a marriage ceremony photographer. An skilled photographer will have good equipment and know what to seem for when taking your wedding pictures. He will also know how to take wonderful pictures with no getting to be a distraction to the celebration or the people today taking aspect in it. He will know when to action up and when to step back. The knowledge a specialist marriage ceremony photographer brings to a wedding is priceless.
Simulation is a representation of reality (problem, system etc.) through the use of a model or other device which will react in the same manner as reality under a given set of conditions. Simulation is a very powerful tool and is used for problems which fail to be solved by the direct analysis. Once the simulation model is designed, it takes a little time to run a simulation on a computer. Decision theory: Decision theory plays an important role in helping managers make better decisions. Since, in the world people live, the course of future events cannot be predicted with absolute certainty, probabilities are associated with those events. Decision theory covers three categories of decision making under certainty, risk and uncertainty.
Replacement models: Replacement problems are generally two types involving the replacement of items that deteriorate with time and those that do not deteriorate but suddenly fail. The first category includes items like vehicles, machines, equipments, uniforms etc. The problem consists of finding the optimum time for a replacement so that the sum of the cost of new equipment, the cost of maintaining efficiency on the old and the cost of loss of efficiency is minimized. These problems can be solved by calculus and dynamic programming. The second category includes items like electric bulbs, tubes, tires etc. The problem, here, is about finding which items to replace and whether or not to replace them in a group and, if so, when. The objective is to minimize the sum of the cost of the item, cost of replacing the item and the cost associated with failure of items. These problems can be solved by statistical sampling and probability theory. Heuristic models: The heuristic models use rules of thumb or intuitive rules and guidelines (generally under computer control) to explore the most likely paths and to make educated guesses in arriving at a problem’s solution. Thus, checking all the alternatives, so as to obtain the optimum one, is not required. Heuristic models seem to be quite promising for future OR work. They bridge the gap between strictly analytical formulations and the operating principles which managers are habitual of using. Combined methods: A production control problem, for example, normally consists of a combination of inventory, allocation and queuing models. The usual method of solving such combined models consists of solving them one at a time in some logical sequence. However, operations research combines those models and constructs some type of master model, which takes into account the interaction of individual models.
